I miss my friends. Let me explain....For those of you that know me persoanlly, you know that I have recently moved from Frisco to Euless. We moved to be closer to family because that is where we felt God leading us. We loved Frisco and we are learning about and loving Euless, but there are some major drawbacks that came with the major plus of being close to family. We knew when we decided to move that it was a sacrifice, but I think that I am just now feeling the true brunt of that sacrifice, as they say, the honeymoon is over. The thing that I knew we would miss the most is our church family and friends. We are still searching for a church in Euless and it has been really hard on us. I miss my college friends too, but I had already made that transition of not seeing them as often as I did in college, so it has not been as much of a shock (afterall, we graduated over 5 years ago, okay 6 now!)

Let me explain to you a little about my church friends and our relationship. These ladies have been the first real "church" friends that I have had. My other friends were made through school or work and most of them go to church and are Christians, but that is not what brought us together in the first place. I saw these girls once a week at least, if not more. We really didn't talk on the phone that much or see each other a whole lot outside of church (except for scrapbooking :) ) but I got my "fix" each week. The men in our lives would usually get bored of us standing around talking and go ahead without us, etc. I guess that is what makes the transition so hard, the place where my communication and fellowship with them took place, is no longer a place I frequent, so I am having to learn to call them and email them regularly. My college friends know from experience that I am not good at this, so thankfully they take it upon themselves to get in touch with me! What brought this all up is that I got to talk to one of these ladies last night and we talked for over an hour. It was a bittersweet conversation, I loved talking to her, but it made me realize how much I missed her and all of our little group. Ladies, you know who I am talking about and I am admitting that I am not all that great with phone calls, etc., so I hope that each one of you is better at it than I am! I miss you girls, I miss your support, your spiritual challenges and your advice as moms! Love you! E

I totally get this feeling. As you know, we are CONSTANTLY struggling with our decision to stay in Texas. It's hard to balance your desire to be close to family with your desire to still be YOUR OWN family. Plus, I am the world's worst communicator and long-distance friend/relative. (I laughed when you said YOU weren't good at phone calls/emails, etc. HAHAHAHA! I am the CHAMPION of ignoring my friends!) You know if we didn't have blogs now I would probably talk to you next when one of us DIED.

The great thing about you as a friend though is that I know that even if we don't talk often, we are still friends.

OK, this is long and I should probably just post about it on my own blog, but you know this is always a hot topic with me. I totally get how you feel, is what I'm trying to say.

Thanks Tess! Thank goodness for blogs! Well, at least some of our friends are good about it! That is what I like about you too, we don't even skip a beat!

Mrs. MAN fan club said...'s so touching!..oh, not me? just kidding. Did you know I have your exercise/health binder? What have you been doing with all your articles for the past year. I am so disappointed in your disorganization! Only a real friend can raz you like that!

Probably NOT as tough on the husband either is it? You'll have to blog about that too. How guys tend to find friends quicker, although they are not as deep as the friendships women form.

Hey, change my link on your site to say The MAN Fan Club instead of using my NAME!
