I Hate Roaches!

Last night I went to give SD a bath and noticed some droppings in her bath tub for the second night in a row. I didn't think much of it, just washed them out figuring we must have a tiny mouse that comes out at night, not surprising since we live in a heavily wooded area. So I went to grab her "bath books" from the shower caddy and there I saw the BEAST! A big, nasty cockroach was perched atop her bath books with droppings all around him! I guess he had been stuck there for a couple of days, not knowing how to dismount from the slick bath books without commiting suicide on the porcelein. I grabbed my naked baby, turned off the water, ran out of the room and yelled to my husband to defeat the BEAST and let us know when it was safe to return. Fortunately, he is not nearly as scared of roaches as I am and was able to defeat the BEAST relatively easily and quickly. SD and I returned to the now safe bathroom, rinsed everything with scalding hot water and proceeded to bathe her. All the while, I had nervous eyes that scanned the room to make sure that he didn't have any friends lurking! Yuck!!!!!

I honestly don't know what I would have done. I grew up in Austin and we just didn't have those there. We had scorpions... much better i know. But Imagine my surprise when I moved here and encountered my first one! Did you know they can FLY?! I was terrified! I swear they are satan's creatures!
