The Local Rec Center, Part Duex

Most of my exercising consists of running. And since we live in the great state of Texas, I can do this outside, for 75% of the year. There are only about 3 months (Jan-Mar) that it is a little too cold to do it. I am so thankful for this, because I really don't like running on a treadmill, and the kids love to go in the stroller. Last year, a good friend gave us a 3 month gym pass, so it was perfect. But this year, we will be taking advantage of our Rec Center. They have a annual pass for a family, for about $120. I love to go to the gym and lift weights, etc. and so does BG. And since we can't really afford a membership, typically $30 a month, we will be taking advantage of what our tax dollars are already paying for. They also have a pool that only costs $1 per person to use and the kids are free! I am sure it is not as fancy as the chain gyms, but my guess is that it will fit the need! And the best thing is that it is just down the street, which drastically cuts down on the excuses!

Check into your local rec center to see what they offer!

I love rec centers and community education classes. I have taken a lot of fun classes through them - from calligraphy to kickboxing. And they are super cheap and very down-to-earth. Love them!
