Rose Colored Glasses

I have decided that we all wear rose-colored glasses. No, not all the time like we live in some sick, twisted Wizard of Oz Munchkin Land, but we wear them none-the-less. We always think that we make the better decisions, make less mistakes, have chosen the right way to do things. I think that we do this to justify the decisions that we make. Why would we, in our right mind, buy a house in a crappy neighborhood, to keep it real? Of course not, we put on our rose-colored glasses when we buy a house and we think that we have found THE neighborhood, THE school district, and THE best shopping close to home. Since having a kid, this reality has been amplified. Of course, you are all raising your children the wrong way unless you are raising them just like I am... Again, I think that we put on these glasses to justify how and why we do the things we do. Am I the only one who thinks this way? In the end, I think that we were created this way, if not, we would probably all be walking around totally distraught and confused about every decision that we made. I am thankful that we are all different and have different realities, that is what makes us unique from all of God's other creatures. Now comes the hard part, not to be judgemental about everyone else's rose-colored world!

I don't look at it that way, but I do think we get caught up in trying to compete with everyone else. Or we start letting the ads tell us that we need more or better things.
