How About This for Fun

Today, my torture of choice was to drive with a one-year old for 5 hours on I-35. Yes, you read that correctly, 5 hours, I-35. Am I insane, am I trying to get committed to a loony house before I am 30. Actually, it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. SD did very well, all things considered. We left home after her morning nap and she made it to about Waco, which was where I was planning on stopping for lunch. I was falsely led to believe that there was a Chick-Fil-A right off the highway, what a bunch of advertising LIARS! I was so excited that Waco had finally gotten a Chick-Fil-A, that I was sucked in to driving 3 miles off the highway for a chicken sandwich. Oh well, SD had fun watching all the "big" kids play on the playground and eating french-fries (I know, I am an awesome mom). Then on the road again for another 2+ hours. I was hoping and praying that she would fall asleep, but you can probably guess how well that worked for me. By the time we finally got to my parent's house, she was pretty whiny, but I can't say I blame her, I was pretty grumpy myself after being in a black car during the heat of the day! Well, we made it in one piece, and I think that we packed everything that we need. If not, that is what Grandma's are for, right!

You ARE brave.

You could have gone to the SUB for Chik-fil-a! That is right off the highway! And if a 5-hour drive doesn't earn a kid some fries, I don't know what does.

That's a one way ticket to the loony bin for sure; ;-) It sounds like she did really good, and I can't blame her - I am always whiny at the end of that trip.

Did you go to the one off of New Road? That was there when we lived there. AHHH - that just reminded me - remember when Tess and I stayed up all night before the homecoming parade and we opened up the Chik-Fil-A? And then we met up with you to watch the parade and you thought we were crazy for staying up all night! Another good memory!!

No feelings from this guy. I drove 10 hours with 2 kids who wouldn't sleep and periodically would nit pick at each other. AND the wife wasn't with me!!!!!!

Wait til you have #2.

Tess - I doubt the Sub has high chairs, just a thought.

Carla - I don't remember that. I love that story! I thought you guys were nuts!

Man Fan - You guys are nuts! I think your kids are so used to it by now, that it is no big deal
